My Shipping Label is Not Centered — How to Fix It
Decide whether an off-center shipping label is cosmetic or caused by PDF layout, thermal feed, driver origin or sheet-printer margins before reprinting.
Best next step
Follow the symptom-led steps before buying or reprinting postage.
Start with the tool or template that matches this guide before printing paid postage again.

1. Separate cosmetic whitespace from lost content
Inspect the original PDF and measure the output. If the whole label is complete, actual size and within the paper, uneven outer whitespace on a desktop sheet may be cosmetic. If a barcode, quiet zone, address or service mark is clipped, treat the offset as a print failure.
2. Trace a thermal offset
A repeatable shift on both a blank 4×6 template and live label points to media guides, sensing, driver origin or a documented position setting. Reload and calibrate first. Do not shrink the whole label or use undocumented offsets to hide a feed problem.
3. Trace a Letter or A4 placement
Confirm the selected sheet and orientation match the PDF. Adobe's Actual Size keeps dimensions but may crop when the page does not fit; Fit changes dimensions. Choose a matching source layout instead of moving barcode artwork for visual symmetry.
4. Stop when position changes active content
Reprint after the blank template passes if the live output is clipped, rotated, folded or too close to an edge for flat placement. If only the source PDF is shifted or incomplete, return to the issuing workflow instead of compensating in the printer.
Source notes
General troubleshooting framework: the sources explain PDF sizing and representative thermal calibration. Visual centering is not presented as a carrier requirement, and model-specific offsets require the printer manual.
This page is a practical print-setting checklist, not official carrier policy or a promise that a label will be accepted.
Confirm the current format in your platform or carrier account, keep the original PDF, and stop if a test print is cropped, blurred or incorrectly scaled.
Troubleshooting advice is general. Record the printer model, paper size, PDF viewer and scale setting so you can verify each change.
