Use A4 only for an A4 source workflow
This template checks a desktop inkjet or laser path that is supposed to output an A4 page. It is useful after changing paper trays, printer defaults or PDF viewers. A true 4×6 source may be placed unchanged on a larger sheet, but stretching it to fill A4 changes its geometry.
Set the sheet contract
Load A4 paper, choose A4 in the driver and print the A4 PDF at 100% / Actual Size in the intended orientation. Disable browser headers and footers. Do not choose Letter merely because it looks similar: Letter and A4 have different dimensions and printable areas.
Separate printable margins from scale
If the measured page is proportionally wrong, inspect scaling. If only an outer edge is absent while interior measurements remain correct, the printer's non-printable margin is the likely boundary. Prefer the issuer's A4 layout or a printer-supported margin path instead of shrinking scan-critical content without evidence.
Protect multi-document pages
An issued A4 file may contain more than one label, customs material or other required shipment content. Inspect every page before extracting anything. This blank template cannot decide document meaning and never authorizes cropping or discarding adjacent content.
